Refurbished phone contract are offered which can represent great value. Typically a refurb phone is in excellent condition because many refurbs are simply phones that have been returned as part of the 14 day return policy so most phones are in mint condition but can’t be sold as brand new because a customer has technically owned one (albeit for a few days only). A refurbished phone can reduce the monthly rental fee by £10 or £15 depending on the deal, but these deals tend to go quickly due to limited stock so you need to be quick – we update our deals daily so you can be guaranteed that our phone deals are highly accurate.

About Mobiles.co.uk

Mobiles.co.uk was the first retailer of mobile phone contracts online in the UK and opened up in 1995. Since then they have grown to become the largest Internet only supplier of phone contracts in the UK and were purchased by the Carphone Warehouse group in 2007. Due to the fact that Mobiles.co.uk is run as a subsidiary of CPW it means they are managed separately so they have the autonomy to set their own deals and offers, but also have the backing of the huge CPW group.

Mobiles.co.uk was one of the first online phone shops to introduce free gifts as part of a phone contract and to this day they are still a leader in offering free gift phone contracts.

Contract Credit Checks at Mobiles.co.uk

When applying for a Mobiles.co.uk phone contract you should expect to be credit checked and to pass the Mobiles.co.uk security checks.

There are no hard and fast rules on what and whether you will be subject to stringent checks as these can vary depending on the various aspects of the application.

For example as part of the contract application, Mobiles.co.uk may email you to ask for more details about yourself before they are able to process and accept your contract. This could be confirmation of age, place of residence, etc.

Also, in order to pass a credit check for a monthly contract a network may stipulate that the applicant makes a deposit towards the cost of the phone. Mobiles.co.uk will always contact you to check that you are happy to make a deposit (if you are asked for a deposit and refuse it is likely that you will fail the credit check and you will not be successful in your contract application). Once you make the deposit it is then refunded by the respective network and applied as a credit towards your monthly contract fee after 3 months. Alternatively you could request the refund to be made back to you as a cheque payment at this point. Either way, the deposit is made available to you in full as credit against the line rental or as a lump sum.

Essentially, before you apply for a contract if you know that you are going to be credit checked you should ensure that your credit score is as healthy as it can be, to settle outstanding debts or credit bills elsewhere if possible and to make sure that you have some money in the bank that could act towards a phone deposit if needed. By ensuring that your finances are in the best state possible you will stand the best chance of passing a contract credit check even if in the past you suffered from bad credit or had been declined credit or refused a phone contract in the past.
